from Parents..."We started working with Fernando Ayala in September 2020 to help with my 4th grader's at home learning. In the beginning he was teaching a pod of 3-4 students and did an amazing job attending to their personal learning as well as keeping them engaged as a group since they no longer had the experience of being in class with peers. About 4 months ago my daughter started back in person school but things were working out so well with Fernando that he is still working with her a couple days a week. My 4th grader is very bright and curious but not always the best student and has challenges staying organized. She and Fernando work soooo well together and she has been maintaining her grade level curriculum as well as continuing to work on supplementary curriculum that Fernando designs for her. We hope to keep him as a tutor as she moves into 5th grade next year. Now we feel like he is part of our family. Highly recommend!" -- Brette W., El Segundo
"Fernando was an amazing asset to us during this pandemic / distance learning year. He led a 4th Grade pod for our daughter and the level of academic professionalism he brought to the table was greatly appreciated. He pushed the students to go above and beyond their class curriculum and really helped them learn and understand critical concepts. He provided stability and a consistent learning environment in this otherwise challenging year. I strongly recommend Fernando to anyone needing extra support with schoolwork or additional tutoring. We will gladly work with Fernando again as needed!" -- Serena B., El Segundo "SoCal Teacher Tutoring Services has been amazing for my high school student. Fernando is an amazing tutor across different disciplines. He has provided help with Spanish, Math and English. Not only is Fernando academically knowledgeable, but he also teaches my son life lessons, including time management and organization. He both garners and provides respect, and it helps to increase self-confidence in what can be a socially awkward time for teenagers." -- Kelly F. , Manhattan Beach "I have had the pleasure of working with Fernando Ayala on several occasions in the fifth grade setting. I have observed Mr. Ayala's teaching style and I must say that it is professional, making the learning environment fun and engaging for students. I enjoy [learning from Fernando] just as much as the students. [Mr. Ayala] is an awesome teacher, bringing exceptional experience and a fantastic teaching style to classrooms." -- Sheri R. (Room Parent & Paraeducator) "I have known Mr. Ayala on a personal and professional level for over 20 years… He has constantly been in pursuit of becoming the best teaching professional possible and placing himself in the widest variety of positions to attain this goal. He enters each experience with the greatest attitude of professionalism and a pure passion for teaching. On a personal level, I have two children in El Segundo public schools, High School and Middle School, who have experienced first hand the teaching of Mr. Ayala as their regular substitute. Both of my children have commented on the respect Mr. Ayala commands and the abilities he has to enter a new class, quickly “size-up” the class, students, and lesson at hand and get it done with great success." -- Rebecca C., El Segundo (Parent and former colleague) “Mr. Ayala was [my daughter] Isabelle's favorite teacher this year. She described him as the only teacher that truly engaged her in learning. She found his classes to be fun and creative and really appreciated that he didn't just lecture to the children, but rather engaged them in project-based learning that had real world application. As a parent, Mr. Ayala made an effort to connect with me and build a relationship in the context of teaching the whole child. It was clear that he endeavored to teach his students about values, relationships, and critical thinking that extended beyond the classroom. On several occasions Mr. Ayala went above and beyond to communicate with parents about our children's learning and progress. Mr. Ayala appears passionate and genuine in his desire to teach as well as learn and grow as a professional.” – Elaine B. More from parents |
